Sunderland director, Kristjaan Speakman has come out to confirm that the club made an attempt to re-sign Manchester United’s Amad Diallo on loan in January. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the Ivorian forward was one of those three or four targets the club was looking at in January, but it became a situation Sunderland had no control over.

He added that the January window has always been a fairly dormant market, so it was not surprising.
His words, “Amad would have been one of those three or four targets [that we were working on] but there are factors we have no control over. I think you’ve seen, first of all, in terms of the market over the January window, it’s been, I think the phrase that’s been commonly used, is it’s been a fairly dormant market.
