Katsina: APC’s Tafoki wins Kankara House of Reps seat

Hon. Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has won the by-election for the Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa Federal Constituency in Katsina State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, officially declared Tafoki as the winner of the election after he garnered a total of 49,807 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Hon. Jamilu Lion, who closely trailed with 49,067 votes.
The breakdown of the results by local government areas as reportedly presented by INEC is as follows:

Kankara Local Government: APC – 16,758, PDP – 22,360
Faskari Local Government:
APC – 22,711, PDP – 19,347
Sabuwa Local Government: APC – 10,338, PDP – 7,360
The overall outcome shows the APC’s dominance, securing a total of 49,807 votes compared to the PDP’s 49,067 votes.
